Hello Lovelies!

I hope you've been savouring the recently brilliant summer weather we've been having in Sydney and readying yourselves for the festive season upon us! Here at Friperie, we are perpetually grateful to have had such great support over the past ten months and honestly I didn't think this conceptual baby would ever come to life let alone last this long so from the bottom of this tiny ticker I thank you sooo much.

Hello Darlings,

I've always had a weakness for men in bow ties (see photo below, yum). FRIPERE NEEDS A FACE UPDATE

Just wanted to let you all know that the Friperie needs a face project has been extended to October 13! Please keep those emails with your logo ideas coming! I am beyond excited to see what creative things you have up your sleeve, your 5 minute scribble could finally give Friperie an identity! Please spread the word to your friends and folk who you believe are artistically articulate. Or even if they aren't. Give it a try! Don't forget to read the rules of the project here.

Friperie needs a face project

I've come to realise, actually I've always been aware I've just recently struck enough effort to conduct this, that Friperie has been in existence for seven or so months and still lacks a distinguishable face. We all know how annoying it is to pronounce Friperie in public (myself included) without sounding like a snotty pole-up-my-ass french wannabe or even worse, a defacer of the beautiful language. Hence, Friperie is calling its artistic friends and other strangers keen to stretch their creative bones by creating a logo for this little baby of mine.

Rules & Details:

1. Project starts from the 13 September- 1 October 2010 (12am EST).
2. Email logo and rambles to abigailanncruz@hotmail.com 
3. You must either refer a friend or yourself as Friperie's friend on facebook/twitter/lookbook.
4. Your logo must have the name Friperie somewhere in your design. At the very least the letter F.
5. Any medium is acceptable, please resize your images though to no greater than 640 x480 dimension wise. jpg formats only accepted.
6. The sky is the limit with what I'm looking for thematically/conceptually. The only thing I will hint is that if you intend to draw an intricate colourful Sistine chapel equivalent, you most likely will not be selected. Since its a logo, I'm after something that is original, easy to remember, embodies what Friperie is and is easy to use as a banner, tag etc. So go crazy, absurd and ridiculous. Feel free to attach a short explanation of your idea for the logo if its not self-explanatory.
7. Break a rule and you will not be considered or disqualified from the project.

Prize & Collection:

• Friperie will use the the selected winner's design as their logo (obviously!)
• Credit will be given to selected winner as well as free promotion if desired.
• Since we're still meager as a little hobby, I apologise for not being able to give a stellar prize and instead a small token of appreciation...

Hello Friends!

I know Friperie has been very sleepy during the winter season but now that Spring has almost graced us with its much awaited presence, we can't wait to up the anty and bring you more goregous garb and spicen things up with our new and exciting schedule for the rest of the year. SEPTEMBER

• We've got a male guest seller this month! So grab a bargain and some ridiculously handsome apparel. Ladies, spread the word to your manfriends and keep a lookout for the unveiling of friperie's first love collaboration (for a limited time only).
• We've got a mini collection (accessories only) to drug up your bored little wardrobe for the season! Coming soon, check the noticeboard for details.
• The Friperie needs a face project will be launched this month. We're on the prowl for some avid artists and creative geniuses to make Friperie's logo! Details for this project will be on the noticeboard as soon as it comes to being. Little tokens of appreciation will be given to whose logo we choose to use!

OCTOBER

• Our next official collection for the Spring will be released! Details to be announced. 
• Spring cleaning continues, we will be wiping out our old precious junk from previous collections and making way for 2011! 

DECEMBER

• Finally the festive season! Sharing is caring and to show our appreciation and hope you have a splendid christmas we've got some goodies to give away! 
• We'll be welcoming 2011 with our summer collection in January and celebrating our birthday in February with more lovely shit to lavish you with!

So don't forget to note down the special dates, keep spreading the word and thank you once again. We appreciate all the support and effort you all make. We love how you've opened your closets for us and we hope that we'll still be making you froth and lust like we did from the start.

TO DO LIST

1. Thank you for all who have purchased from July's offerrings 'Grandmother's Closet' and we hope to receive more willing and generous offers to find these unique pieces a home.
2. Please note price changes to the last three collections have been made so don't forget to drop by and recheck the further reduced bad ass bargains!
3. Summer is almost upon us! I can't wait for the comeback of the singlets, sweat, tan lines, visible thighs and ice cream. To celebrate the long awaited season, Friperie is spring cleaning to make way for the heat-filled days. This means from September - November Friperie will be removing unsold items from existing collections and making way for a new season of apparel. Slowly but surely the price of items will disappear meaning they are no longer for sale. But take heart, the new collections will inspire, perspire and make you froth!
4. End of August/Early September, a one-off mini collection will be posted filled with accessories, bags, shoes and other miscellaneous wonders. Keep an eye on the noticeboard for more details.
5. The next real collection will be in October, this is Friperie's spring offering and will begin to suffocate you with feminine pieces and vintage garb galore. 
6. Please read the collection spiel for the updated method of our collection releases.
7. Smile at handsome stranger, toss a busker some coins, eat ice cream from the tub, wear a colour you never do, go for a morning run, call a friend you haven't seen in awhile, grocery shop with mum, cook with your favourite boy/girl, keep Friperie as your frequent lusts.Live life.

Progress and New Collection

Hello lovelies! How it's been awhile. Hope you are all well and have rested those little wallets and pockets for friperie's return. Friperie has been undergoing a few changes in terms of site appearance, inventory and continual improvement to make your shopping experience delightful. I hope this vacation has not encouraged you to forget your fashion lusts but have only birthed excitement for the future of friperie. Please expect in the latter half of 2010 for more vintage finds, collections systematically spread apart (we are giving more allowance between each launch), technological advancements and easier methods of browsing and shopping.

Before I bid you adieu, please don't forget that the latest collection entitled "Grandmother's Closet" will be released on the 27th July 2010. Time is still TBA. I hope you are excited for this floral wonderland, vintage threads and pieces waiting to be hacked, altered and sewed to your taste. Friperie will awake from its hibernation soon end of july and will come to play with a collection of adorable vintage and vintage-esque attire. Mammoth Collection, Mini Vacation

To my beloved customers and supporters of friperie,

I hope you are all well and once again, thank you from the bottom of my indebted little heart, for all those who purchased from friperie's third collection- child's play. Just to let you all know, my fourth (and I believe best yet) collection will finally shine its little face upon us on the 20th of april! Please mark this on your calenders, write it on your ceilings, Chinese whisper this to all your friends. Please do not forget! This huge collection entitled "the street side beau monde" is a wonderful collection of androgony, dirty phrases, back street alleyways and a lovely trolley full of clothes for you to call your own! So please be in anticipation and excitement for next Tuesday (6PM EST). Also men, there are a few things in store for you too, so please check it out!

Secondly, the 20th of april will be friperie's last "warm weather" collection until july, in which a snippet of the things that remind you of summer and entice you for the spring (think grandma's warm sweaters with sheer shirts and bright florals), will keep you company nearing the chilling months ahead. So please, do not miss this opportunity and please support friperie before it goes into hibernation (not permanently).

So until the 20th, i bid you au revior until july though I promise to write occasionally in order to keep you updated on friperie's progress!

While we wait

Firstly thank you, thank you, thank you for all those who have purchased from friperie's second collection. The support is yet again overwhelming! I do hope your desire, excitement and ridiculous bargain hunting will not cease as the third collection arrives with much more clothing, posing and our regular vulgarity haha. Due to busy uni schedules and my other jealous priorities, the third collection will be released a week later than originally planned. so instead of the 23/3, friperie's third collection entitled "child's play" will be uploaded for the general public on the 30 MARCH 2010. Please note this! To make up for my inconvenient lagging and break of the quotidian routine, this collection will be much larger than normal.

Thank you from the bottom of this quaint, little heart and never tire from spreading the word please as we all countdown for the 30th.

A taste of tuesday

For a little taste, tease, excitement, frothing and taunt before the official second collection is released on tuesday (9/3), I would like to share with you all the description for the next exhibit- "an insomniac's lullaby" in order to prepare you of the unexpected. Please be excited and ready as the autumn/winter apparel slowly crawls out of my closet and into yours.

Description: Inspired from an old friend’s song title. Incited by the snooze-filled days and the sleepless nights. For when the eve and the morning feel the same and no longer arrive or depart with a distinction. Comfy and cuddle worthy apparel for this autumn weather. 

I can't wait! Tell all your sydney living friends and fiends and hope to get those emails on Tuesday!

Gratitude and second entry

Firstly, thank you for all those who purchased and made friperie's debut a success. The support is overwhelming and hopefully this spree will continue for past customers and the unknown friendly folk to come. Please email me any feedback and even photos if you are comfortable to, I am delighted by my past treasures being exalted in some other forum.

Secondly, friperie's second collection entitled an insomniac's lullaby will be launching on the 9 MARCH 2010 so please note this down, imprint it in your brains and once again spread the word! The description for this collection will be posted on Saturday (6/3) so please revisit. Once again thank you x infinity and hope to get that email from you soon again!

What next?

Friperie's to do/significant dates list.

• 20/2- plan out three entries worth of lovely shit, contact lovely photographer friends and organise a concrete date for discussing future photoshoots (until 21/2).
• 21/2- iron, prepare and accessorise items for photoshoot with elle. 
• 22/2- photoshoot for debut launch. If the weather is on our side and time permits, we'll take photos for the next two entries.
• 23/2- friperie is open to the general public!!! The garage sale of the century, thrift goodness is available for purchasing as soon as it is posted on the site. Please remember to email straight away! 

Just to let you know, items that have not been purchased within a month will be removed from the website and given to the lovely folk at st. vinnies so do not wait and email me immediately! Don't be shy to haggle, I'm asian and thus feel very comfortable to negotiate haha. However some prices are ridiculously cheap so please don't be offended if  i say this is the last price. Essentially, the more you buy the better the deal. I am in the middle of figuring how to make the browsing experience less confusing but until now, please check each post in case you've missed an amazing item (or you can send me an email to enquire).

Countdown

Official launch of friperie: 23 February 2010.


Photos will be posted on the 23/2 entitled exhibit A. The store will run systemtically with items being posted (specified on the noticeboard) depending on my time/schedule. This is a first come, first serve basis so whoever is the quickest at emailing me and saying deal ultimately gets the goods. Please note that this store is reliant on its customer base and spreading the word, so please let your friends/lovers/family/haters/ pets know about this little project.

I'm in the middle of inventory right now and so far I have a heap of ugly, unconventional, beautiful and nostalgic items from the brands you love, the brands you don't, vintage and international apparel from the UK. All ridiculously cheap!
